The press need to do their jobs and ask these people to back up the emotional hyperbole with real numbers. If children are hospitalized and on vents it shouldn’t be an issue to prove it. They cannot let people slide because of their credentials. Prove it or shut up.

I have lost neither a family member or a close friend from the virus
In fact, nobody I have even met has died from it. I heard about a pregnant girl nearby that I don’t know that almost died and lost her baby but who knows what all was going on with that situation medically. The baby was stillborn and then the girl was almost immediately fine so idk I thought that was strange but at least one lived I guess

I know Katie O’Neal from my time as a resident at Earl K Long. I haven’t read the thread but I can speak to her knowledge and character…she’s first class. Her husband is a critical care physician at BRG so they have a unique perspective on COVID-19 (i.e. they’ve seen some crazy shite).
For what it’s worth, I trust her completely and her motives are driven by patient care. She’s an excellent physician and person.

No first class doctor should ever speak like she did yesterday unless people are dropping dead in the streets
She made a bunch of claims and provided no data to back it up and if they think that kind of speech is going to encourage people to get vaccinated they are more tone deaf than I thought

I’m not going to defend her statement or even debate with you. I’ve read the thread now and it’s been 11 pages of bashing her (including her physical appearance), all because the board disagrees about her opinion on the pandemic.

The more they push the more I resist. From people I talk with the variant push is not making them more likely to get the vaccine but more suspicious of the ultimate motives.

going to the memorial for a much loved cousin of mine. died from a heart attack a week after taking his second shot. They said his death was covid related and counted him in their stats
