A new 20-floor, $140 million multi-use set of high rises, called Seven16 Lafayette Towers, are coming soon to 716 Lafayette Street in Downtown Lafayette.

Seven16 Lafayette Towers’ plans feature two identical 20-floor high-rise structures flipped opposite from each other. Each high-rise plan features a parking garage on floors 1-7 with four elevators. The 8th floor plan is to feature a luxury restaurant space with rooftop patio dining. Floors 9-16 feature designated commercial space, and plans for floors 17-20 feature residential condos or a luxury hotel with rooftop patio space.

Lafayette's downtown (this potential building included) makes Shreveport/Bossier's downtown look like Manhattans.

With everything shifting to computer work at home there really isn’t a need for this anymore

Ugly AF. But good for Lafayette. Their downtown doesn’t have any skyscrapers yet.

Don't think that will blend in well with the rest of the area.

This isn't Dubai lite

TBH I love Lafayette but i49 not going through it in interstate form has really stifled the development of the downtown area. They should get that figured out before trying to build any high rises downtown. I always noticed the downtown seemed like they went out of their way to not make tall buildings or build densely. Alexandria's downtown actually is more "downtownish."

TLDR: Laffy and the entire state would benefit from completing i49 somehow and someway through Laf to Nola.

Good for Lafayette. Lafayette's downtown is very underrated. They have some cool places down there.
