Dothan, AL man shot and killed trying to break up fight between 2 women

Sad that a guy was just trying to do the right thing and stop a fight and it costs him his life.

One man is dead, and a woman is behind bars following a Friday-night shooting in Dothan. Dothan police were dispatched to the SouthEast Health emergency room after a male showed up there with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Authorities said 33-year-old Jeremy Rashad Sanders had been shot once under his left armpit and died shortly after his arrive at the hospital. Officers determined the shooting happened in the 700 block of Monroe Street. They were able to locate the crime scene and summoned investigators there. The investigation showed that Sanders was trying to break up a physical altercation between two women one of them pulled a gun and fired one round that police said was intended for the other woman. The round struck Sanders instead.
