DOTD receives additional $80 million in federal highway funds

LINK
Each year the Federal Highway Administration allocates funds that were not used by other states or national programs. The LA DOTD will use the newly awarded additional funds on projects where the funds can be obligated by September 30, 2018.

The $80 million in additional funding will be used on projects that include:

- Phase 2 of Pecue Lane construction in Baton Rouge
Improvements at 6 railroad crossing across the state (La. - 434 in Duson, La. 318 in St. Mary Parish, La. 101 in Lacassine, US 90 in Metairie, La. 27 in DeQuincy and La. 641 in Gramercy)
- Resurfacing portions of I-12 and I-20
- Active transportation projects (multi-use path from North Blvd. to Expressway Park) and Shreveport (transit amenities)
- Improvements at I-10 at US 171 in Lake Charles

I didn't see "southern I10/I12 loop for Baton Rouge".

Shocking.

You think this is a good thing guys? They cut federal employees salaries to pay for this. Think about it, your mailman, your local irs agent, the lady that puts money on your ebt card, is making less money so they can fix a few pot holes

They aren't making less money, they'll judt have less buying power. Then there's also the chance for a promotion which carries a pay increase, or there could be a better opportunity in the private sector. The economy is very good and folks are hiring.

Highway 90 in Metairie??

I guess somewhere on Jefferson Highway between the parish line and Clearview? Mostly in Jefferson, technically, not Metairie.

For 80 million dollars the state could widen Nicholson Drive from Ben Hur to the Parish line and have enough left over to widen Old Hammond Hwy. from Millerville to O'Neal Lane.

You mother f'in imposter, with your Southern flair. This whole time you had posters thinking you were from around these parts. No local would consider these bombed out like Afghanistan roads, a few.

Piss off, Texan!
