Do you have to tip when you place your order before the order even goes through you already give them a tip and they're not allowed accept cash

They can accept cash, I delivered for Door Dash before. It's actually a better method because DD compensates if a person doesn't tip and the cash doesn't have to be reported to DD

It's all good chances are either the driver was backed up and had to cancel or OP ordered something from a fast food place and it was on the other side of town
Most drivers especially during peak hours won't even accept a fast food order if it's too far order they get stacked.
Also one thing to note DD gives you the option to leave a note and in that note you can just say cash tip if you want to give them cash

I’ve canceled one order before. Got to a restaurant that wasn’t taking cards and had no way to pay for it (some places make you pay with a doordash supplies card). Didn’t feel like dealing with driver support because they’re awful so I just bailed on it.

Or the person tells you they’ll tip cash upon arrival and throw you a dollar bill. But the tip rules on those services all suck i.e. I can post a big tip to get my food fast then edit it to a few bucks days after the fact

Happened to me once. Except he didn’t cancel the order. He just didn’t deliver it. Never saw that $10 credit.
