frick off, you can take your non-FDA approved, government poison. It's assholes like you peddling vaccines as mutually exclusive to ending the virus that are the problem.

Facts are racist lol 15% vaccination rate blacks 102% vaccination rate whites whose lagging behind

So all white people, and then some, have been vaccinated?

Even though this is a pathetic troll attempt, black people are 32.2% of the LA population and represent 29.8% of the vaccinated LA population. I don't think that 2.4% is holding the State back from anything.

Also 33.9% of the black population in LA is vaccinated. 34.8% of the white population is vaccinated. I guess if we can get the extra 14k black residents to get their shots we'll be out of this whole mess

My parents are in that "spike" and they are vaccinated....and the dr. that tested them said there is NO test to know if this is a variant or not. So how can they report anything other than just covid?

And what are their symptoms? Why did they get tested?

It’s the Delta strain which is more resistant to antibodies from the vaccine and causes more severe symptoms.

There’s no evidence delta causes more severe symptoms or increased hospitalizations compared to other strains. UK just released a study that showed there was not a corresponding surge in hospitalizations linked to a surge in delta cases.

Yep. Was just told that since I've not self-reported my vaccination status that I'd have to be wearing a mask full time at work every day until I get the vaccine.

That's okay, busy time of year coming up in the next 2 months. I'll probably decide to get vaccinated then and take subsequent COVID leave that I never got to take when I actually had it in March of 2020 and went to work. Funny how that works.

Link?

From an article I just read.

https://www.nbcnews.com/science/science-news/delta-delta-variants-everything-need-know-rcna1281

quote:

More research is needed, but there are indications that the delta variant may cause more severe disease. A study published June 14 in the journal The Lancet examined the impact of the delta variant in Scotland, where it had become the dominant strain. The researchers found that the risk of hospitalization from Covid-19 was roughly doubled for patients infected with delta, compared with people infected with the alpha variant.

“If for comparison we look at the original strain, the U.K. [alpha] variant and now the delta one, we are noticing that there is a difference in transmissibility, as well as the potential for more dangerous outcomes,” said Dr. Alejandro Perez-Trepichio, an internal medicine physician based in Naples, Florida.

Researchers in the U.K. have reported a shift in symptoms that may be associated with the delta variant. Data from an app that more than 4 million people in the U.K. downloaded to report symptoms, vaccination status and other demographic information daily found that the most common symptoms of Covid-19 are now headache, sore throat, runny nose and fever — similar to what people may experience with a bad cold.

From the Lancet source article

quote:

In summary, we show that the Delta VOC in Scotland was found mainly in younger, more affluent groups. Risk of COVID-19 hospital admission was approximately doubled in those with the Delta VOC when compared to the Alpha VOC, with risk of admission particularly increased in those with five or more relevant comorbidities. Both the Oxford–AstraZeneca and Pfizer–BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines were effective in reducing the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 hospitalisation in people with the Delta VOC, but these effects on infection appeared to be diminished when compared to those with the Alpha VOC. We had insufficient numbers of hospital admissions to compare between vaccines in this respect. The Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine appeared less effective than the Pfizer–BioNTech vaccine in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection in those with the Delta VOC. Given the observational nature of these data, estimates of vaccine effectiveness need to be interpreted with caution.

The lancet material was published Jun 14th. Perhaps you have newer data/conclusions from the UK from a source as reputable as The Lancet (or even The Lancet) you could share. Otherwise it seems you have it backwards.

cough, fever, wheezing. Well our son had RSV and was around them the same time we found out he had it. Then they started getting sick and went to the dr and they tested them when they went in. They loss their sense of taste shortly after that.

demographics on who isn’t being vaccinated

I’m sure this was a rhetorical question, but in case it’s not, a minority is a majority of ones not vaccinating. Same group still wearing masks.

I don’t care about hospitalizations or deaths either.

It’s nearly 100% unvaccinated, so they made their choice. Whatever, enjoy your fate

My latest company policy is that I have to be masked while in the office.

We are still at home, but on 9/1, if we go back, I’ll be in the office part time and be forced to walk around with a mask.

My office time will be limited to 1-2 days per week, tops.
