Depending on how big the tv is the fresnel lens is worthwhile on its own.

Is there a retro gaming store in your area? Ask them if they’ll take it off your hands.

It’s tough.
We had a Sony 40” badass tube tv. Hauled it to the road. With a sign that said “Take”. Nobody got it. Even the guy who combs the streets picking up junk. When that guy can’t make a buck off of something you know it’s done.

I'll take em. I restore old arcade cabinets, and CRT screens are becoming harder to come by.

...Or for target practice. My kids loved shooting one up with their 30.06.

Bet he couldn't load it by himself. Probably weighed 150#.

I tried to give my last one to a repair shop to be used for parts and the guy just laughed and said no thank you. I had to carry that damn 32 inch Sony from a 2nd floor bedroom out to the curb and it damn near killed me between the bulk of the thing and the weight.
I replace it with a 42 inch flat screen and carried that one up under one arm.

Donate them to All the Rage in Broussard. People pay to smash stuff with sledgehammers and stuff. They take donations of tube TVs.

Tried my best to give a few away. Went in the back 40 with my backhoe, dug a deep hole and chunk them in.

I had one that I swear weighed 250+. Took three of us to get up the steps to the second floor.
Was an early flat screen HD Sony. Guy said the glass was several inches thick. This would have been very early 2000's.
I left the damn thing when I moved.
