Good thing they didn’t see mine this morning. She was picking up ducks and at one point she had ice on her coat.
Poor dog was having a blast picking up ducks while swimming in freezing temps.

I'd say different situation .. you were with her and she was doing what dogs do. She wasn't left out there.

Dogs love cold weather. Dogs do better in cold than they do heat.

Jesus my cat slept outside like he always does and it was 16 here last night.

Seemed just fine when I let him in this morning.

We're going to find out who the trashy rednecks are real quick in this thread....real quick. Some people shouldn't own dogs. Probably shouldn't raise kids either.

Wonder if the Eskimos are worried about getting fined by the fun police for their huskys?

Probably not as Huskys are cold weather animals. Having said Husky on a leash with no shelter from the sun on August day in Louisiana would be abuse.

There’s a big difference in an outside dog who isn’t chained up, has appropriate shelter, and access to food/water and the ones in that guy’s yard.

Do better OT. Y’all know damn well there’s a difference.

I think you’ll find most people are saying that it’s the tiny chains and poor treatment that are the issue. Not that the weather is chilly.

You’re suggesting Beating and mistreating is fine, but when the weather goes from balmy to brrrrrrrr, that’s when you toss someone in jail?

Our dog is literally a little bitch. She wanted no part of being outside longer than to take a leak.

Depends on the dog. My labs are looking across the yard at me like "can you make it a little colder out here?"

Some cold-adverse breeds start having issues under 40-45 degrees. Almost any of them that have a short coat and lean build can have issues.

Your cat is able to roam, get under the house, find warm spots, etc.

A dog chained up exposed to the elements with no shelter is completely different. Especially dogs without a thick coat.
