Buy new bedding and use that as your excuse.

Girl wants to bring dog overnight to my place.

but why

Probably cause she doesn't want to leave the alone all night

I allow my golden to do basically whatever She likes, within reason. She's well trained and great around people so it's not a problem. She generally sleeps on the floor or her bed

I personally wouldn't let it happen. If she ditches you for that, be glad you found out before it was too late.

Call me nasty or trashy or whatever you want.... when I have me an awesome pup that is mine, I keep him clean and I let th le little man be his own little prince right behind me, the king. So yeah if he wants to jump in the bed and snuggle under the sheets? It's all good...... I mean the let random dog arse women cuddle under the sheets. They would probably lick their arse if they could too. And have about as much shame as the puppies do.

Is this a losing battle?

Yes. I married a woman that slept with a dog her entire life. Our 32# miniature dachshund sleeps on her side of the king bed and always has. There is nothing I can say or do to change that, so it doesn't bother me.

If the dog hates you, then y'all are not getting married

If the dog is a shithead, then dump her for being a shithead dog owner

If she went out of her way to by a shitty dog breed, then dump her.

If the dog is a good dog and you hate it, then you are a cat person and frick you

I was you about 10 years ago.

Now we're married and have a damn near 20 year old gimpy dog that shits all over the house and constantly falls and gets stuck. She has a chronic infection that stinks like death, and takes super expensive medicine.

Is the dog well behaved? Does he listen to her commands?
Allowing the dog in the bed is allowing it to be dominant. We allow our dogs at times but after they've been invited. Your gf doesn't sound like she is in tune with dog training/being the pack leader so it's probably a lost cause unless she supports you taking on that role.

Dog stays on her side. No big deal. If its a small dog then you will never even know.

I have a lab that stays indoors. Every day I come in from work i contemplate giving her away for a second because of the shedding. Our house is disgusting with hair. Neato vacuum gets most of it, but where she leans on the sofa or against the bed at night is covered in hair all the time. I hate it. Could not imagine if she got in bed. Just disgusting. Non shedding, wouldn't be an issue.
