She passed with you right by her side. I'm sure she was thankful and maybe felt at ease with you there. Hope you can take some comfort in knowing that

I'm so sorry man. The way you talk about her, it's obvious you gave her a good life.

I still miss my buddy I had for 13 years - the only thought that comforted me was "would I trade the time we had to get rid of this pain? Of course not".

You Fail to realize that the OT contains a lot of miserable people. To the OP im sorry your going thru a tough time. We all have lost pets especially dogs because they are so lovable. I had to put my pup,not really a pup 16 years old, down 2 years ago. He couldnt walk anymore.Vet gave him the shot 10 seconds later he was gone. He died in my arms. I still cry thinking about it. Time does seem to Heal with pets and you will remember the good times.

My heart goes out to you, Ponch.

The first few days will be tough, but take solace in the fact that she knew you loved her. God bless.

f she is suffering that much you should probably seek euthanasia, now. She needs you to be strong for her at the last.
. All of this. As a kid this was one of the first things my Dad taught me. Never let a animal suffer. I know it is tough. Call a friend to help do it or get it done, but don’t let that sweet dog suffer.

We recently lost our 15 year old lab. Tough conversation to have with inquisitive 8 year old and sensitive 5 year old.

We just went through this with our boxer a few weeks ago. She got a blood transfusion and held on for another few weeks. It sucked.

My only advice is of you have another dog, bring them to the euthanasia. They need to know the other is going away. I didn't know this, we didn't bring our Yorkie. He was semiass before and now he is full a-hole and is pretty depressed. Doesn't run around like before. Just lays on the boxers bed. He'll get over it but will take time.

Not to derail the thread but someone might downvote because the news sucks and thinking upvoting is more disrespectful (i.e. “my dog is dying” - “haha awesome” *upvotes*).

Yeah, no. It's not that. The way some people responded (with the trolling and down voting) in this thread is exactly why I can't stand most people.

I hope they're going through something serious one day and some little dipshit does the same to them.

You need to take her to the vet. My dog had the same thing and the morning I was taking him for treatment was his last morning. The tumor ruptured at some point, watching him go down that morning was horrible. Yeah he died with me by his side, but I would have rather him go down more peacefully than he did.

Sorry for your loss. It’s heartbreaking I know. My 11 year old black lab passed hours before he was to be put down, a few weeks ago. I miss the guy, but I am grateful for the time we had, and that he is no longer in pain.

Sorry to hear that. I lost my guy a earlier this year to cancer as well. It was very fast, too. You never truly realize how much you love these pups until the day comes when they aren't there. I still think of my guy every day.

Not sure if you've lost a pet before, but grieve your own way. Don't let someone else tell you the "right" way to do it, or that your response is inappropriate, or that it was "just a dog." I may have been insensitive to friends/family in the past when they've lost pets, not because I'm an a-hole, but just because I didn't know. Then when I lost my guy, I realized how wrong I was.

Sorry again for your girl.
