Funny you should bring the natives up. Did you know the last slaves in the United States were freed AFTER the ratification of the 13th and were slaves held by the natives in the territories?

Is there any uncontested land on the entire planet?

You didn't think this one through did you.

Do stupid people use “conspiracy theorist” out of context now to feel like they have a better point?

You make some very reasonable, rational points in your post. But then you turn it in to some dog whistle laden regurgitation of a right wing boogie-man narrative. You actually do the same thing that groups like BLM do.

So by pointing out that the groups responsible for this thinking are almost all linked by their own admission to socialist groups I’m somehow using a dog whistle?

No, you just don’t want to respond to the facts so you are deflecting. The fact that a political movement is using this to further their own agenda matters.

It speaks to why this is happening, that is to say their intent. If I thought their intent was to heal it would frame the discussion differently. But they don’t want to heal, they want to divide and create victims which helps no one but their own party. It’s transparently manipulative and I despise them for it.

Your last paragraph is a mess. Do you believe in being responsible for the acts of previous generations? How far should we go? Am I on the hook for the time my great great grandfather was arrested? How would that even work? What should be my penance? It flies in the face of all modern law, morality and basic logic.

Do we owe the Irish who were sent here as indentured servants? The people who sent them into that condition are dead and so are the people who were the victims.

Everyone in America has a relative in their ancestry who was a slave at some point. Do we all just send each other a check? If so what would that fix?

The simple reality is we have explicitly banned slavery by constitutional amendment (unlike other nations such as China who still use slavery). The government has apologized.

At some point it needs to end as the people who deserve the apology aren’t even alive to hear it. It’s become nothing more than a virtue signal that is accomplishing nothing because the people who are claiming to be offended aren’t listening and weren’t the ones who were victimized in the first place.

The path forward is to empower all Americans to live free of their family history whether it was as a slave or slaveholder, treat everyone equally under the law and move on as every other race and culture in world history has had to after a horrific chapter in history. The Russians, Jews and Chinese had to after WW2 and now they all trade with each other and live peaceably. We must do the same.

Until that happens the issue will continue to be one used to divide us culturally while not moving us towards any positive outcomes for the communities who were once impacted.

Indians? Are you talking about the East Asian nomads that migrated here, occupied the land, took on slaves from other tribes, raped women, and scalped each other?

Every fricking left winger uses this same language to describe things they know aren't really racist but are too dishonest to admit it.

Even when its not racist, xenophobic or transphobic, its a dog whistle to you people.

The whole premise of these socialist entities is that they want what you have, but they don't want to fight you for it. They want to shame you into giving it away.

frick them. Make them try to take it.

What I do find funny is that the natives were savages that murdered, raped and pillaged other tribes but all were so peaceful according to modern leftists.

Do you think there is anyone at all in the whole wide world who isn't living on land that his ancestors took from somebody else?
