Gumbo is a stew if you are a savage unrefined Cajun. Creole gumbo has tomatoes and is more of a soup.

First gumbo is a stew
Second, Creoles and Cajuns ARE French Catholics. That’s what those terms mean! Creoles came directly from France or from France by way of Haiti. Cajuns came from France by way of Canada (aka Nova Scotia, which prior to their expulsion at the hands of the british, was called Acadia).
Third, the Port of South Louisiana is a catchall for all of the port facilities along the river between New Orleans and Baton rouge. There are dozens of plants, refineries, and grain terminals along that route that each have their own ports. Literally 1/3 of the world’s agriculture products flow through that area. It’s not hard to fathom.

Cajuns came from Canada after Louisiana had been here quite some time. Creoles are a mix of French and Spanish or French and African or all three.

If you live in Lafourche Parish or Terrebonne Parish. If you live around New Orleans or south of New Orleans it's not gumbo unless it has okra

It seems like they would focus on my relevant information.. And with history... or social studies.. It seems like they would include more information that focuses on what got us to where we are today..
shite like "how much did the cattle in Texas sell for?" Shouldn't be something they have to remember. It could be mentioned to them, but.. It just seems they could take a different direction.. Then again, I am not a professional in shite like "what information is best to teach kids in the 4th grade".
