After the OP, I don’t stick around. Trying to keep track of all the comments and replies is annoying.

Depends on the subreddit. There's some good stuff on there.
r/CFB is actually pretty entertaining on Saturdays.

were you not allowed on the internet when MySpace was a thing?

I just don’t like how the internet has ruined any and all sense of true privacy in the world now.

You don't have to put every detail of your life on the internet.
You don't have to take your phone everywhere. Hell, you don't need a smartphone.
The internet hasn't taken away privacy. You have chosen to take away your privacy.

Remember when you could edit the HTML code of your Myspace page? Some people's pages were sensory overloads.

Maybe, but the format is godawful

And autoplaying Nickelback songs.

I personally loved clicking on some hot chicks page only to have "Toxic" come blasting through my speakers

When's the last time you read or saw something on the internet that wasn't about some other type of media? Articles about movies, movies about movies, books about movies, movies about books, celebrities endorsing products and products endorsing celebrities. The internet has become a circle jerk of entertainment media and not actual entertainment.
The Googles, AT&Ts, Disney's of the world are to blame as they have filtered the independence that hobbyist websites had so that you never see them or they buy them and change them.
Want the internet back? Walk away from your TVs and local cinemaplex. Don't buy products from advertisers that "force" you to view their ads. Walk with your money and take up a personal hobby.

The vanity and attention-whoring of society is what is ruining the internet, as well as a lot of other aspects of life, IMO.
