But I view this as an inappropriate double standard. If you limit the scope of “atheists” only to “militant atheists”, then sure, hur dur atheists. But that’s utterly self serving, in my opinion. The vast majority of atheists go about their daily lives never mentioning it whatsoever. Only people who know me well know I’m an atheist, and only because they brought up religion first. I never discuss it unless prompted. Most atheists are like that.
Christians, on the other hand, outwardly display that they are Christians constantly (it would be nice if they focussed more on living the gospel, but that’s a separate issue…). Yet, they have the gall to mock “atheists” for constantly talking about it. It’s dishonest, otherizing nonsense. Christians are free to say that they are justified in constantly displaying their religious beliefs, but they aren’t free to pretend as though they don’t do so while mocking others.

Do they do stuff like this?
Brother, “speaking in tongues” is considered normal in some Christian denominations, so I’m not sure if that’s a row you wanna hoe

How someone can believe that there’s no higher power than themselves is simply ignorant in my opinion. I happen to be a Christian, but my beliefs aside, to not believe there’s anything out there and you just turn into dirt is shortsighted and extremely narrow minded and naive in my opinion. So No, I don’t like atheists.
That's far from the only option.
You can also believe there might be higher power, and if that higher power is omnificent and omnipotent, look around at all of the atrocities in the world that he's creating/allowing and reject to worship the higher power. And if he's not omnificent and omnipotent, then why are we worshipping them in the first place?
Regardless, my primary rule in life is to serve others and treat people with kindness and respect. If I've done that and there is a just god (which I'm unconvinced of), then he/she will allow me into their heaven if it exists. If not, then there's going to be plenty of virtuous people with similar altruistic values as myself down below.

I was pretty hard core religion/Catholic up until I was about 18 when I joined the Air Force. The first few weeks of basic training, I made some friends and we all went to Sunday Mass together. There was one guy in the bunk across from me who was Atheist and I vowed to stay far away from him. During my 4th week, I got a letter from home that said my grandfather wasn't doing well. I broke down crying in front of everyone in the day room. Thankfully the drill instructors weren't there. But my church buddies never came to check on me. The only ones who did, were the Atheist and another guy who was Hindu who I had never talked to.

Its only faith in people not a god.

I think we had a long convo on here about faith, or do I have you confused with someone else?

I just don't know what to tell them when they sneeze.
Really hope no one said that already...

Not being at least curious to know the answer seems stupid.

You are safe no one has said it, I say "bless you" and mean it when I say it.

The way you phrased that, it’s quite possible, though I don’t recall offhand. Do you remember more context?

Fairly certain it was you, basically you had quite a few questions about faith, and salvation; you weren't clear on a few things.
I encouraged you to meet with friends that were believers, in person, for clarifications.

I recall that now. I believe you mistook respectful disagreement for lack of clarity

But it isn't, though. I'm with you on the self-righteous, but an outward (and should be okay) display of Christianity is more like "He is Risen!" or "Turn the other cheek", etc. An outward display of atheism is, "You're all stupid!" or perhaps mere nihilism.
There is nothing wrong with being an atheist (other than the obvious). There is literally nothing to it. However, to export atheism, your "evangelists" have to tear down those of faith.
It believe that is the core of the conflict.

People who are atheist are selfish as frick and most don't even realize where the morals they live by come from

You asked questions, so I tried to answer.
If you'd said you were an atheist, I wouldn't have engaged.

Before we go any further, let’s clarify something: You walk up to me and say “I believe X, you should too, and here’s why…”. I reply with “I don’t believe X, and here’s why…”.
Am I “evangelizing” atheism or “tearing down” your faith?

Sounds like a good discussion.

I’m genuinely sorry to hear that

How many people have you seen do that? Bet I’ve seen more Christians carrying signs condemning people to an eternity of hellfire by at least an order of magnitude, if not two.
As a Christian, I have a bit of disdain for these people as well. Mainly because they are false Christians.
The Bible is full of those filled with righteous indignation.
I also notice atheists seem to like to rag on Christians about their Sky Daddy, but are quite adept to shutting the frick up when it comes to Muslims and telling them Allah isn't real.

People, as a rule, are cowards. There’s a reason why religious people tend to venerate those who held to their religious convictions in the face of death: because it’s really rare. Which you would think wouldn’t be the case, if that person truly believes that moments later they would experience eternal bliss.
Most Christians will shut their mouthes with a gun in their face; most “militant atheists” talk shite to people who are less likely to physically harm them. People are cowards.
