Paris is great, don't listen to the haters. First restaurant I ate at there the waiter kept apologizing because the menu was only in French and the girl I was with only spoke English.
It helps to learn a little of the language and customs before going to a foreign country.
Paris is beautiful and romantic but as far as skylines go, Paris isn't great. There are regulations that limit how tall buildings can be so it's pretty flat other than the Eiffel and Montparnasse towers and Sacré-Cœur is on a hill. All the other tall buildings are in La Défense.

What were they thinking? That building has never done a damn thing for the ambience of Paris.

Yep. La Defense is where the financial and commercial center of Paris is:
I’ve been to Paris 16 times and Parisians have always been nice. Country folk are actually less friendly.

After it was built everyone hated it, thus the regulations preventing any other buildings like it.
The only good thing about it is you can get a great view of the city from there with the Eiffel tower in view.

Yellowknife has a disproportionate skyline for such a tiny town.

Here's a picture I took of the Seine in Paris. Quality isn't great cause I downloaded it from FB. I have the full resolution somewhere.

That's nice. But Port Arthur just has a certain "X" factor.

I'm biased but St. Paul's skyline isn't bad for a city of 300K
