A job has opened up there and I am considering taking it. I have been to Boston many times but never stayed more than a week. Waltham area is where the office is.
I know its cold crowded and expensive as hell. But what else?
Eta: moving from houston. Boston > Houston i know

Cold, crowded and expensive as hell would be enough to keep me out

Not a huge fan of the east coast....but in my experience Boston and other parts of New England beats the hell out of Philly or Jersey.

Just don't eat at Chipotle.

Is it anymore expensive than Houston? I suppose it depends on where you live and work in Houston. It's not exactly cheap being in the inner loop. I've heard great things about Boston though.

I lived in New England for a few years but not Boston. I loved the Summers but HATED life during the winters. You will find that there are some awesome people mixed in with some really huge a-holes.

Crazy expensive so def study the Cost of Living intensely when looking at the salary offered

Boston is great if you like outdoor activities and can tolerate busy cities. It is also a short drive to one of the most picturesque regions in America

A couple of guys went up for work last summer for 2 days. They stayed downtown and said they maybe saw one attractive woman the whole time there.

This is what im wondering. I get the impression living inside the loop in houston is cheaper then living pretty far from downtown boston, though. Buying something anywhere nice near downtown Boston is unaffordable for me for sure.

My boyfriend just moved there for work and he seems to like it well enough. Too cold for me but doesn't seem to bother him. Public transportation system is pretty awesome but it is definitely expensive. Cool city, though. Lots to do and of course tons of history. I would live there over Houston.

I work for a Boston based company and have been approached about moving to HQ. It looks like I'd need a 30% raise just to hold steady.

The look reminds me of a clean New Orleans. With things being down in Houston for at least the next 2 years I'd move to bean town. Especially if you dont have family. If you don't like it just move back.

Are you single? If so, don't go. A buddy I have lived there for a few years for work and said the girls were wicked ugly.
