Here's the fricked up thing about it. These people are giving these kids these little cutesy names like they are going to be 10 years old and under for their entire lives. These kids are going to be sending in resumes at some point with these silly arse names. At some point there's going to be a 70 year old grandpa named Braydyn.

Exactly, and I've been saying this for years about the bad baby names and spellings from my generation.

These people forget that while, yes, they are naming a baby, they're also naming a future 30-60 year old with a career, mortgage, family and reputation.

You think Kynsleigh is a cute name for a baby, but that kid will one day look weird applying for a job, running for public office or being a grandpa. Not to mention all the needless headaches you're going to put that kid through when he or she is stating their name (or having it read aloud) anywhere in the future, whether it's at a restaurant, business, on the phone or public forum. Braxstyn is going to have to spell his name two or three times just to place order at Starbucks.

It’s what separates the travel ball players from the rec league players.

A good friend of mines name is Kirsten (Ker-sten) not too unusual there’s days, but for years she has been pissed that her name has a strange pronunciation.

She says that for years now, every single time some has read her name she has to correct them, every time she meets someone new has to correct them. She said it gets really old. Not unsurprisingly her three kids have very easy and normally spelled names.

Wife's friend wanted to name her daughter Lenin.

1. How is that a girl's name?

2. Is she naming her after a light summer fabric, or a communist dictator?

3. fricking wypipo.

This decision is more ignorant than naming your child "Kayci."

i do some custody work and when people name their kids and it's a suspect i legit ask "is that spelled normal or weird?"

the sad part is that as i get older, more often they don't even understand the difference in weird/normal

This was going to be my name if I had been a boy.

And yep, I'm one of those with a normal name and different spelling.
