I guess what I'm getting at is, why have the photoshoot and put it on Facebook or Instagram when 95% of the people you're friends on there don't give a shite? And why not instead just mail them to family members, close friends, people that actually care you're pregnant.
You are on Facebook. You signed up for and actively seek out this exact kind of shite. Why else are you on Facebook? Your friends could just mail or email you any important life updates... like what they had for lunch.

I saw a couple I know post pictures of their newborn in green for St Patty's day. Another photoshoot for a half-asian baby that was no Irish roots. I mean, it's a free country and all, but silly if you ask me.

That's damn near the entire point of Facebook or Instagram. If you don't like it, stop following them.

I know a couple like that. A photoshoot every month it seems.
We do one a year usually for Christmas or Easter, but a $200 session a month is just crazy to me.

No, I signed up for Facebook to post my political and religious beliefs and get into huge arguments with anybody that doesn't believe exactly what I believe. You don't know me, bro.

This is a natural progression to share any and everything about every facet of every narcissist in the world. Look at me! look at me! The only way to deal with it, is to either ignore it or join in. If you get angry about it, it will only hurt your health. Social media exists and is popular because everyone wants to be heard and seen. But with everything in life, there are more people talking than listening. It's really not worth getting angry over. It's only going to get worse.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not mad about it at all. Hey different strokes for different folks. Just seems like a ridiculous waste of money if you ask me.

Attention whoring has reached epic proportions during the social media age. The ante has been raised

It is. Just point and laugh. It's the best way to handle such things.

This. So much this
The wife and I have been engaged, married, and had two kids and the only professional photographer involved in any of it was for the Wedding. I love my wife more and more when I see idiots going along with stuff like this.

Does everything involve people whining about meaningless shite nowadays? You sound like a pansy.
