I had to take an infusion for thyroid eye disease. The major potential side effect was hearing damage. I had to stop the infusion due to terrible tinnitus and a 5 to 20 db hearing loss across both ears. The tinnitus started after the first, hearing loss after the 4th. The hearing had been fine as I was tested all the time. Then, bam, the loss over thirty days. So, I am now waiting to see if some hearing will return. You get used to the tinnitus.
The infusion helped my eyes, though at $120k each I was disappointed.

What about causes??
I have seen it listed as a side effect on some medications. However, mine is not caused by medication…it is caused by me being a dumbass when I was young!

I had an issue in my left shoulder last year that was in the tendon and wouldn’t go away. I did a wolverine 2 peptide stack.
I started feeling better in 2 weeks, was 75 percent in a month, 95 percent at 2 months. No issues since completing the stack 6 months ago

Cheap headband earbuds on Amazon and find a YouTube 12 hr track with a frequency that masks it. My flare ups are noticeable only when I wake up in the middle of the night or too early to get up.

It’s not understood very well by the medical community.
Thankfully mine comes and goes. I only ever really notice it when there is quiet and it clicks on.
When I first had it it was constant and very annoying.
A safety guy once told us how we do damage to our hearing every day. He said when you arrive to work set the radio just loud enough so you can hear it clearly. Then after work, see if you will be able to hear it clearly. Wear ear protection was the point.
