McDonald’s breakfast.
Three items totaling $20 (prices already inflated because of using Door Dash)
$4 Delivery fee
$1 dasher support fee
$3 service fee
$2 tax
$30 total

Poor dashers probably get no tips anymore. I’m sure not tipping them. Haven’t in a while. Bag is always secured, not cold, not messed with blah blah

Don't you enjoy a nice drive to McDonald's?

Why would you deny yourself that?

It’s funny. You can draw a line right down the middle of my department who uses these services vs doesn’t. All the early 30s and under without kids uses them all the time. Anyone older with kids doesn’t. Sometimes it’s nice to just get out for a little drive

Stop the following:
1. Eating fast food
2. Being lazy

It’s Sunday morning baw. Make breakfast at home.

What do you expect for no tip. DD pays a base of $2 per delivery to the driver. Who in their right mind would put wear and tear on their car, use their own $3/gal gas, fight traffic, deal with the weather, wait at Mickey Ds for your order and deliver it to your door so you can sit on your fat azz for $2. DD is a convenience for lazy people and convenience comes with a price. I don't blame you for not wanting to pay the inflated DD prices, but get off your azz and go get your own food you lazy frick.

Laments about door dash drivers not getting a tip, then doesn't do it either.

If you can't afford the tip, you can't afford the order. Pick it up yourself and save you almost half the cost.

There's a principle in sales.

You can have things

cheap
Fast
Good

The caveat is you can only pick 2.

Fast food was, in general, fast and cheap. It wasn't good but the speed and price made up for it

It's no longer fast, nor cheap. And it's still not good.

I guess convenience is a premium people are willing to pay. Me I'd rather just drive somewhere myself for something decent if I'm paying those prices

I don't think I've had any food delivered to my door since college. Never used DD, Grub Hub, etc... worked for Dominoes as a kid for one summer, which was fun. But well before covid era, I just never cared for getting stuff like that delivered. I guess I hated waiting more than i did getting up and going to get stuff.

I did doordash for a year or so during covid to stay busy then earn some extra spending cash on days I didn’t have anything going on (was mindnumbingly easy work and I like driving). The entire time I was driving I was amazed at how much money people wasted on that. I’ve only used it twice and it was because I had gift cards.

That being said if you aren’t tipping (or not tipping at least 4-5 bucks) don’t be surprised when your food shows up cold. Drivers can see the expected payout most of the time and won’t touch it until doordash ups the payout themselves to make it worth it.

Never used food delivery, never will.

I like getting out of the house and running errands and stuff.

And they all complain that the economy sucks. Stop giving your money away, fools.

Meh, if you can't afford a few extra bucks on top of the extra 10 or more for the delivery, pick that shite up yourself.

They need to make the tipping based off the distance driven rather than the price of what you purchase.

You can choose what tip you’d like to give.

There’s a McD 1 mile from the house that does a booming business so none of the products ever sit around under the heat lamps. They hire locally so everyone is middle class or higher and the results are much above average for fast food. Probably helps that they are adjacent to I-20 at a busy exit for the area.

Hell, even the BK at the next intersection from the interstate is decent because they hire the local middle class kids.

Why would I pay extra for a single mile delivery much less additional tip? Especially when the delivery person comes from unknown demographics.

Moral of the story: business in general is only as good as the employees. Hire trash and the business will be trash.
