I just upgraded to a 14.4k dial-up modem and use Netscape and communicate with ICQ. Before that I was using stone tablets and a chisel.

A lady at work uses it. She swears it's super fast because no one else is on it

I have a good friend in Atlanta that sells dial up Internet to 3rd world countries. He travels the world and makes a shite ton of money. He is single and just randomly seems me and my gf random go pro videos from his travels.

I had it until 2008. We would have had it until about 2011 (that's when broadband was made available in that area) if we hadn't moved.

Places like Honduras, somewhere in china (forgot where the go pro video was),etc. Alot of central America and south American countries are getting phone lines now so I guess they want that dial up Internet.

I was at K mart the other day checking out the blue light special on K-tel 8- tracks, metal lunch boxes, cabbage patch kids, and Commodore 64 games. They gave me a bluelight dial up CD after I bought a Chips metal lunch box and sun screen for my RCA black & white TV.
Ended up trying the K-mart Bluelight dial up over AOL and it seems faster.

Similar subject...article in WSJ about a year or so ago that gave an estimate of Americans who do not have internet service of any kind at home. This is willingly...not extreme poverty cases. Most were very rural. The figure was estimated as high as 15%. They interviewed a few folks and one guy in KS who is a wheat farmer said he saw zero need for it in his life.
I was surprised that figure was still that high when poverty factors were taken out.
