It could easily be some random old dude with a cool new jacket. NOLA waiters and bartenders thrive on celebrity sightings. You could tell a French Quarter employee that your dad was the bassist for Whitesnake and they'll be all "I knew that was you! I'm a big fan!!!!"

I'm pretty sure it was just some guy with a unique jacket and the waiters liked him because that was his choice of jacket for Commander's "jacket preferred" policy. No one on here has a clue who he is.
