Augustine's is the only one i ever went to

quote:Yes, but the owner died a year or two ago and things have steadily declined as what usually happens. I've heard rumors that the end is near for that restaurant which is a shame because the kickin chicken was awesome - ate there and Tommy's a bunch during my SLU days.
Is Mariners still open? Basically Hammonds version of Port O Calls..

I remember they always announced closing time with a Sinatra song.
That was Chevy's, they played "New York New York'
Stray Cats played the Stray Cat strut.

I’m there at least once a week and the food is as it ever was. They skinny-ed down the menu a bunch (which it needed) and the service is 10x better now that they’ve gotten rid of some of the tenured nasty broads they always had.
not sure what your rumors are but it’s always packed and always good. I have no idea what the ownership situation is now but I hope it’s stable

'IF YOU DID NOT SCORE, YOU JUST WERE NOT HUSTLING!'
Is cloudy- Was that the night she kept trying to actually box someone in the ring? You might have been one of ten. Or ten of ten.
Crowd wanted a singing performance in the ring and she wanted to box.
There might have been real fights scheduled that night, pre mma's popularity. Hell Joe Rogan was probably still on the man show at the time.
I just remember her being a mess and the ropes up on the 'ring'.

Pretty sure the success or failure of any bar he was ever associated with had to do with him having a federal gaming tax stamp...

My friends loved those places when I was younger.
I hated them

I've lived in Hammond for 50 years and have probably eaten there less than 5 times.

i have no idea who you are, but apparently you know/hate me enough that you need to comment negatively on a random bar i went to years and years ago

Anyone else remember that dude Phil that used to always be outside the bar? He looked like he should've been the lead singer of a metal band

Anyone who has spent any time on this site and seen your post knows that you are a leftist douche twat, much like a good portion of the Augustine bar scene. So, it figures that you’d hang out there with the rest of the freaks and groomers.
Oh, nooooo…. What will I ever do!!!

Absolutely, I was there one night when a dude threw his girlfriend down the stairs.
A group of about 10 dudes stomped the shite out of him for doing it.

I never liked the Brown Door much either, but only place that took my fake freshman year, granted it was the only place I didn't know a bartender.
