Does Anyone Have Problems With Their Pharmacy on a Regular Basis?

I recently switched to a local pharmacy to get my prescription filled because I finally had enough with Walmart. Every time I would get a prescription filled when I went to walmart, it was the same shite, they would tell me it would be ready at a certain time, when I would go pick it up it was never ready, I would always have to wait 20-25.
One time I was going to wait for them to fill my prescription because I was told they were not busy & it would take 15. 45 mins later, after checking twice, I was told they were out of the med so it would not be until the next day before getting it filled.
The place I switched to is much faster, but I had small issues with them the past two times I filled a prescription. Do all pharmacies run inefficiently? The only place I think I experienced a smooth process was the Walgreens on College & Perkins.

Mainly because of the convenience of location.

Walgreen's always has my prescription filled by the time I get there. I always call ahead though and specifically ask when it will be ready. In and out in less than 5 minutes.

When I used Walmart, whether I called them or was told a specific time it would be ready, it was as if they pretty much waited until I was there to pick it up before they would fill it. But there were times when I would go 30 mins after they were suppose to be back from lunch, but wasn't..

One of the regulars here is a Walmart pharmacist. Maybe he can shed some light on your difficulty. I expect it has more to do with the individual pharmacy than with the company they work for.
A close family member works in a Publix pharmacy in an area where the customers feel very entitled. I'd bet her explanation would be very different.

This is more likely the problem. It seems to have a high turnaround rate. Other than 2 or 3 people, there is always new faces there. And one of the people who is a "regular face" is an older woman who talks & talks. There could be a line building up and each person she checks out, she will keep talking & talking after checking them out..

I have 9 prescriptions daily,1 of them Norco and 1 Xanax.Other 7 are to keep this motor running.
Go to a Family owned.Get them to transfer all your Meds there. The one I go to I've been dealing with for years.
I helped put their daughter through Pharmacy School at Auburn.
I've seen them turn someone away that had a Narcotic Prescription.A legit one. From my Doctor.
They said they had to save them for their regular customers.
My advice would be to go a family-owned pharmacy and become a regular customer.
eta: Only drawback with the small pharmacy is that they're closed on Sunday.
If you can't wait one day to get your Narcotic filled then you sound like me.

Even the best pharmacy is going to be slow during busy times or when things don't go perfectly, which happens often. Try to go on off hours and it's a little better. High volume pharmacies, like wal mart, seem to have more issues though.
