5 more minutes of googling would've saved you about $400

maybe I should just drive to Nola

It's what I'd do. I like the certainty of having it over and out my mind. As others have said, I think it's an easy process. Just be happy that there's a passport office so close to where you live. There's only 27 for the whole nation: LINK

Edit - I suck at reading... it's 5 hours to nola for you and someone already posted the link

You were totally screwed and paid a shite ton to have a 3rd party do this for you and it sounds way more complicated. I know Nola is 5 hours away but frick it, I would make the drive and get it taken care of. The entire situation sucks. You reminded me to go home and make sure my Passport is where I think it is for my trip in July.

Not to mention he had to use a service to book his trip.

It is so easy to book trips (domestic or international) online these days. There's no reason to use a service.

Dang. Tough luck man.

How long did the rush take you? My work asked me to get my passport up to date. They paid for the expedited service through the US Dept of State but it still says 4-6 weeks if you don't go to the passport office. I'm not in any hurry to take an out of country trip but I am curious what the expedited time frame is.

Did you have to reschedule the flights?
Thorn on the beach?
Weird. Most people just have nonstop alcohol in the DR.... and get diarrhea from the fruit/water. How'd you manage strep?

$650? I had to use rushmypassport.com once for an employee but that was only like $200 extra. You got screwed.

I have top clearances and worked a decade for an agency, so the last time I needed one expedited it arrived within 5 days.

In the future apply for a job that requires high level clearances and you'll never have this problem again.
