I'm going to the Dominican Republic for Spring Break next week and I somehow misplaced my passport when I was visiting home a few months ago. So of course I'm losing my shite because I leave next Friday and I don't have a passport.

I used RushMyPassport.com because it was the first website to popup when I searched "Passport Replacement." I can tell you, this is not a pleasant process, I thought everything was going to be online and submitted electronically, that isn't the case at all. I have to fill out all of these forms including a DS-11/DS-64, I have to have all of my original documents confirming my U.S. Citizenship, I have to freaking write a check payable to the U.S. State Department, I have to include my complete Travel Itinerary, and then after all that I have to go to a passport agency near me.

It wouldn't be that bad if it was just a straight shot but during this whole process I have to report to the Third Party Agency that I'm dealing with for the whole process. So I'm having to go back and forth, back and forth between the U.S. government and this third party agency who I actually have no clue what the frick I'm paying them to do. I feel like this is going to be a huge cluster frick.

I paid for overnight shipping for my passport so all in all this is costing me around $650 which is nearly a third of what I'm paying to go on the damn trip, all because I'm an imbecile and somehow misplaced my passport that has all of my personal information on it.

Last but not least I went to Cancun last year for Spring Break so we used the same agency this year to book our trip, they didn't ask me for my Passport Number while booking the trip so I assume they have my Passport Number on file, is that going to frick me if my new Passport number doesn't match with the passport number that have on my travel itinerary?

frick me right in the arse sideways.

I went to the office in NOLA and picked my passport up same day.

Your process sounds like a cluster.

I would have done that but I have obligations keeping me from doing that this weekend, plus it's a 5 hour drive to NOLA for me.

Yeah its a shitshow, expediting passports is a horrible process but rookie mistake. Always check your passport about 2 months before travel, and have it filed away in safespot.

4 days before she was leaving for a trip she realized her passport was expired

she gathered all the necessary documents and was at the passport office in nola 30 minutes before they opened

she was the second person they saw

she was able to pick up her passport by 3 that afternoon

no pics of the wife

why the frick did you agree to pay $650 for this? The expedited fee is only $65 or so (in addition to the regular fee to get the passport).

Next time don't click on the first link that pops up in google, ESPECIALLY if it says "Ad" next to the link.

Where do you live? Probably an office closer than that.
