Does anyone ever regret moving away from Louisiana?

When I almost left for Dallas, I thought man I'd really miss family, LSU and New Orleans. Well family is ultimately why we didn't go. I know so many people who have gone and immediately love being away. Question is do you know someone who has regretted leaving?

sometime in the future I could see leaving but I don't want to regret it.

You won't get a whole lot of truthful responses in this thread and the reason for that is that people's egos will never let them admit they made a mistake

No. I regret that La doesn't provide me enough incentive to move back. I wish it would. But I don't regret leaving. TX compared to LA, in the medical field, isn't a fair contest.

I hated being away.

South Louisiana is the best place to live.

CENLA, maybe.

North Louisiana (the extension of Arkansas...), hell no.

I fought tooth and nail to get transferred back to South Louisiana and have not regretted coming back.

As long as they're not attached to the FFF's (food, family and football) I highly doubt it.

I'm in Nashville right now visiting my wife's grandfather in hospital. I'm ready to quit my job back home, pack my shite up and move up here

I miss Louisiana on occasion, especially at the holidays, but I don't regret moving.

Not at all. I miss being able to spend time with my dad right now. But, I don't regret leaving at all.

Nope, not one bit.

Now that I have my parents living 20 minutes away from me in AZ I honestly don't see myself going back to visit LA anytime soon. Likely will only be returning in the future for the funerals of my extended family members that still live there.

I have moved around a bit for work and can't say I regret the decision, as it was necessary to keep my career progressing.

I have found that when I couldn't visit family or tiger stadium in the fall, I really missed it and became unhappy pretty quickly. Also just missed the southern culture a lot.

I have figured out that as long as I am close enough to attend football games and visit family anytime that I am ready, I am in good shape. I don't plan to move outside of the deep south again, though.

I don't regret moving out of state but decided I liked living in Louisiana better than Texas so I moved back.

God no. So glad we moved.

There may be a chance of moving back some day if we have kids, but other than that there's nothing drawing me to move back home.

Don't get me wrong, I miss being able to see my family whenever I wanted. But even my parents (who weren't thrilled about me leaving) have told me they think it was the right decision.

The only thing I miss besides my family is the people/culture. I miss nothing else.

Left Louisiana about 6 years ago and I miss it a lot, but that's because I'm in Mississippi.

I don't regret it. I do miss it though. No matter how much I love Gainesville, I will always miss LA culture.

Every time I go home, I enjoy visiting with friends and family. After a few days, I'm ready to get the hell out of dodge. Staying would have been the easy choice, but not the best one.

Funny, this is why I'll never live Louisiana again

That is usually me at day 3/4. Depends on what activities I have planned while I'm visiting though.

And to be honest....I wouldn't mind making a trip to NOLA from time to time (My husband and I always enjoy visiting NOLA for fun). It's just that I've always had to spend $$$ traveling to LA to see my family. Each time I thought how I could have spent that $$$ traveling to some place I've never been to before instead. Now that I don't have to go to LA to see my parents...would like to spend travel money seeing new places now.
