Females are even worse with boxes, which often have printed instructions or at least perforations guiding you on how to open them. For example, I'm the only one in my household authorized to open Coke Zero fridge packs. Got tired of seeing them ripped open from the handhold cutout.

Or a case of beer
I’m so guilty of this

You could treat her to a nice set of those OXO canisters.
Your chips/cereal, etc. won't go stale and she will be excited about the pantry looking nice.
ETA: MTC beat me to it, but these:

What is that? I just use scissors but I might want that instead
My problem is boxes, like cereal and crackers. The top inevitably ends up in several pieces
It's super simple Paige.

My wife will ignore the side of a box with the tab for re-closing and proceed to tear into the bottom.... leaving it's contents exposed until they are used up.
For lagniappe, her and my three daughters don't even pretend to try and seal bread sacks back after they use them.

Yes.
Mine will destroy an Amazon box instead of walking 5 feet to get the box cutter I have in pantry expressly there FOR HER TO USE TO OPEN BOXES.
There's times when we buy something from Amazon and end up wanting to send it back. Good luck finding a box to send it in if she opened the original.

Yep everytime. Carrots always go dry because she rips the resealable bag like a rabid animal.

This is hard for me to say, but mine has the hardest time opening zip lock style bags.
The last time I bought a bag of dog food, I watched her cut the top off of it with a pair of scissors, which is fine, but it had a zip lock closure on it. Same with large bags of hushpuppies, she'll rip a hole in the bag every time.

This kind of thing annoys the frick out of me.
I had a fricking CE session on opening cereal with these frickers. Some cereals, like Raisin Bran Crunch, need scissors. However, most cereals just need you to be careful and not try to open the bag with your hands stuffed in the box. Just pull the fricking bag out and carefully open it.
It's fricking retarded. Don't even get me started on not rolling or clamping the bag shut afterwards.
I'm fricking triggered now. I need a drink or a joint. frick yall for bringing up this sour topic.

Truly believe the lady of my house has never opened a cereal box using the perforated line in her life. Non conformist streak not always attractive.

I am so surprised to see this as a prevalent issue- I honestly would have guessed men would be the culprits of the bag/box-ripping.
I'm an outlier apparently, because it drives me insane to have ripped up bags and boxes (from both the food spoilage/waste and the aesthetic perspective).

Sounds like she has mental issues. You should mention talking to a therapist

I had a girlfriend who constantly did that shite. She would also mangle a loaf of bread trying to get a couple of slices out. Woman was a complete animal, I tell ya.

My young kids are worse than my wife at tearing things open, but at least they close things.
The wife leaves toothpaste and makeup open all over our bathroom. I came home for lunch today to find a box of cereal open beneath an open cabinet door. She can’t even close a cabinet door.
