We had the covers when I was a kid, but never on the seat. Our boys would make that a soggy mess in about 2 seconds. They can't aim for shiat.
I lived in an apartment once where the toilet was connected to hot water. It may sound gross, if you were to leave a turd in there, I guess, but on a cold morning... that warm seat was nice! Just flush, and come back in a minute or two. lol
