Does anybody else feel like we’re governed by a bunch of children these days?

Years ago, it seemed like the people who ran things were more serious adults. I don’t know if it was because I was younger, but that’s what it seemed like.

I can’t help but feel like the people running things these days are unserious children. They let emotion rule and don’t have control of anything. They almost seem to encourage the breakdown of decent society.

Am I imagining that it’s different today?

Absolutely. Leaders were war veterans, Children of the depression. They didn’t put up with bullshite. Look at the actions of the mayor in Minneapolis. Complete loser and weak. They elected the idiot, let them reap the whirlwind. Live and learn.

Facts. Both the Democrats and Republicans are full of children these days that care more about their own personal aims and egos than the good of this country.

The quality of our politicians directly mirrors the quality of our citizenry.

The kind of person occupying the Whitehouse used have a certain amount of self respect. It really is a shame.

When people don’t lead from personal conviction they are prone to give in to every whim of the fringes.

The worst thing is that Republicans and Democrats are no longer trying to balance each other out to do what's best for the country, instead both parties are trying so hard to one up the other, which divides the country even further.

Until that changes, we won't see a moderate candidate form either party because they will never make it through the primaries, which is terrible because the majority of the American population is moderate.

Any citizen that thinks everything that their party does is always 100% correct means that they can't think for themselves and just buys the BS that their party sells them.

Yeah, he’s certainly included. But I feel like his election was a symptom rather than the problem itself.

Said it here before... the best thing this country could do is not cast a single vote for anyone in Washington. Flush them all and start over. Politics is so mutually corrupt they truly are all Purple. This Citizen Me vs Citizen You game they've concocted is pretty brilliant and they all know it.

That was supposed to be the whole point of the Trump election. But it didn’t do shite. To truly drain the swamp you need to either fracture the 2 parties and have a system like most other democracies (better option), or start a new party that beats out the 2 parties and makes it a one party state (it would probably become totalitarian at some point).

I don't like the idea of being married to one political party.
It's important to get the best person for the job regardless of affiliation.

We have alot of work to do.

Father time will clean out some of the mess pretty soon.

Two groups got more involved in politics and that was the beginning of the end.

Agreed. When Gen X gets into office I bet that things will start to get better.
