Yet, in academic subjects, a single standard is exactly what is established with standardized, statewide testing. So, continue to contradict yourself. You're really good at it. That, and moving the target every few years.

They are literally using legislation to enforce the "everyone gets a trophy" generation mindset.

This is fricking insane. What the hell.

We called it War Ball and some of the nerdy guys were the best at it. Required strategy as much as athleticism. Grab a ball and play defense until your opponent is off-balance and send one in low.

I will say "Wall Ball" with tennis balls scratched a few corneas back in the day . That was banned even in 1998.

Everyone should embrace it and find it fun!

Except when it comes to knowledge. That is measured by a massively flawed yearly standardized test with one single standard and for each level.

Also, the first guys that get out, were the first guys that got tagged back in when your teammate catches a ball.

So getting out early usually meant you got a second chance to play.

So frick this argument.

Also, the "personalized" fitness goals are an atrocity. So fat kids now get a pat on the back for running a quarter mile in 15 minutes and crying because their feet hurt? Our coach used to sit there and walk next to them until they finished the mile, tears and all.

Our youth are so fricked. There are winners and losers in life, just like sports. Better to learn that early and give yourself motivation to be the former.

Yeah our gym teacher was an idiot. He finally caved in to let us play dodgeball "but didn't feel like digging out the balls so just use these volleyballs." Everyone was 16-18 and could throw those WAY harder than dodge balls.

Think of all the problems this state has with corrupt school boards and failing education and this fricktard wants to eliminate sports. The only thing that actually keeps some kids in school.

Well, I'm glad I got to enjoy playing dodgeball while I was in grade school back in the 90s.

At Episcopal we played it every recess, but we usually played it with a racquetball.

We also played four-square, where one of the main putout moves was to smack someone with a basketball from just a couple of feet away.

And Coach Dupe let us play War Ball every Friday for P.E.

We played prison ball, a variation of dodgeball, where no one is ever really "out"

We used to play dodge ball using real baseballs. And rocks.

In our neighborhood we used those green pine cones and trash can lids. About 20 kids split into 2 teams. If got a little rough and these cones will definitely leave a mark.

Good times they are not forgotten...

If the snowflakes can infiltrate Louisiana, they can probably infiltrate anywhere. Sorry Mississippi, you're now the buffer zone between Louisiana and Alabama.

I went to Episcopal. I had Dupe as well

Wall Ball was stopped for us at after-care in the 90's because like 3 kids had scratched corneas

We played football or basketball at recess and definitely picked teams.

Should've gotten to that wall and back across the line quicker.
