United offered $800.

Was that 400% of his one way fare?
I checked United's website. One way fare from Chicago to Louisville is $195. So, yes, he was offered 400% of his one way fare.

My point is that someone else should of stepped in and told whoever was doing the vouchers to stop being a prick and up it until they got a volunteer.
Maybe so, Maybe no. My point is that United did not breach any contract.

yeah this has nothing to do with United shitty customer interactions.

I'm just surprised he didn't offer the gate agents a hand job or some opiates to just get back on the airplane.

On second thought it's probably better that United didn't give him $800 and a free hotel room in a strange city

I will say this. Did United handle this the right way? No, and I don't think his criminal record is relevant in this situation, but I don't think it was as rough as it was perceived to be. Between him squealing like a pig and the woman who was over dramatic, it made it seem worse than it really was.. IMO.
But again, just because he was in trouble before does suddenly make it okay that he was physically removed from the airplane.

Hard to tell since I was not there, but the guy did look pretty disoriented after serving as a punching bag for a minute or so in the video.

do think the information is relevant. It shows this guy isn't so innocent and backs up the claim that he was acting a complete arse before we get to see him getting yanked off of the plane.
There a videos and witnesses that say he wasn't. He raised his voice when they wouldn't leave him be, the fricking horror.
Now, he ran back into the plane and acted like a lunatic. But this was after he got knocked out and dragged off the plane like a rag doll.
Other customers got up and left the plane because they were so disgusted with the Airline.

Ok... The initial report was the he fell. He didn't fall, he was dragged out if his seat and his face smacked against the arm rest knocking him out. They literally lied about it until the videos went viral all over the world.
Next, the freaking security agency said this is not how you handle that situation and suspended the damn guy. They saw that what their employee did was wrong and not in compliance with policy.
I can't believe anyone can defend the airline or the actions of security.

Everyone I think acknowledges the situation was handled poorly from the get.
With that said I have no idea how people can defend this moron and the next person who says he "got the shite beat out of him" or anything to that effect I will see at the Sonic of your choice at the time of your choice to punch you in the face. Repeatedly.
