Do your wives turn down the thermostat more and more thinking it makes a difference?

Usually keep the thermostat at 70 during the day.
Today in the 96 degree Louisiana heat, I come home and the thermostat is set to 65 even though it's actually 71 in the house.
The hotter it gets outside, the more the wife turns down the thermostat thinking it actually makes a difference when the AC cant even keep up.

Subtle brag I can afford a $1000 electric bill in August

You didn't marry her for her brains?

No, I properly taught my wife.

No, there is no thermostat in our kitchen.

My wife knows her place and doesn't touch it.

You may need to replace the condenser unit. If you keep running like that you need to replace it sooner than later.

My AC won't drop below 72° during the day in the summer unless it rains...

Is she plus size?

Put a lockable cover on the thermostat.
Problem solved.

I had a coworker really do this.

Mine thinks the a/c is either on or off no matter how many times I try to explain the thermostat. I gave up

My wife knows better than to touch the thermostat.

Yes. She thinks it makes colder air come out

I keep mine on 71 all the time, whether we are home or not. I might bump it up to 74 when we go on vacation.
Our levelized bill is rarely over $240-250, and usually less than that. Granted we don't get the super cheap winter bills either. Not a huge house, but it's 2500'ish sq ft.

My wife isn't the issue.
It's the 3 teenage assholes living upstairs that are the problem.

I want to be in the room when a wife womansplains a multi-stage A/C unit to a smug husband. You would think all the OT ballers had them but either they are poors or they don't understand what they have.

Same thing with the heater in the car during the winter. She puts it on 85 and wonders why it gets so hot 5 minutes later.

frick no, my wife turns it off cause she can’t handle 70 degrees. Was 95 today in Colorado and I come home to the thermostat off and it’s 75 inside.
