They are jeans. If you pay half a grand for a pair...don't wash em...freak out cause something spilled on them...or wear them around wet intentionally we could never be friends

Yeah, mine are all $50 pairs of jeans. Not some BS $300 pair. And they still last me prolly three years at a minimum.

And for those of you who buy expensive jeans, trust me when I tell you this, no one can tell if your jeans were $50 or $500. I would honestly be embarrassed to wear a pair of jeans that cost that much.

I can tell when someone is wearing raw denim. You'd be embarrassed to wear nice clothes? Why?

But honestly, I dress for myself, not for others.

Maybe once a year I soak them then hand rinse, then hang dry. That could be called washing, but I think the OP was talking about a washer machine and detergent.

I edited my first response to indicate this a while ago ftr.

Are you asking if I wash my clothes? lol, I live in South Louisiana. I can’t walk outside without sweating profusely even in Fall and Spring.

I've yet to hear a point in this thread that gives a downfall of actually washing your jeans other than it's having to do laundry.

They don't last as long, the raw denim doesn't fit you as well after a machine wash, and they can lose their color.

Sounds gross, but my raw denim jeans have a "shape". And they'd lose that shape being machine washed, especially with a normal detergent.

Its actually a thing with Denim. For instance, the Levis recommend that you put them in the freezer, and spot treat them.

(I wash mine because I don't give a frick)

The raw denim ones will last until I get too fat for them or I die, whichever comes first.

I have normal jeans too, for the record. I don't follow the same rules. And I don't have raw denim jeans for you or others, they feel fricking amazing once they're broken in. Like a great pair of boots that has molded to your foot.

They actually don't.

Does freezing your jeans to clean them really work?

Take it from no less an authority than Levi's CEO Chip Bergh — don't bother.

"That's an old wives' tale," Bergh said on CNN's Business Markets Now show on Thursday. "It does not work."

The fact that you think expensive jeans are "nice clothes" says a lot. They are still jeans. And no, I do wear nice clothes when the occasion calls for it, and I do so without embarrassment. No occasion ever calls for expensive jeans rather than a $50 pair of Levi's.
