And if so who (or what) do you follow for financial, sports, investigative reporting, whatever?

I do not have a Twitter account but would be curious if there's any value

It’s a cesspool, but for up to the minute news it’s a good resource.

Nope. Tigerdroppings 1st and Apple Newsfeed 2nd. FWIW... It took me literally months to get the leftwing bias out of my Apple news feed but it's solid. I had to block literally hundreds of websites. Occasionally, a new blog article pops in and I block those bitches too. Being a fan of high tech is almost mutually exclusive with anto-wokeness articles but they do exist.

I use Twitter almost exclusively for weather and sports. It is invaluable for weather, whether that is information from official sources, or from storm chasers and other mets.

How is Twitter a cesspool ? You can literally follow and filter what you want to read

So OP, yes. If someone is reporting news, they are on Twitter. So just follow the outlets you affiliate with

I use the meme thread on the poli-board. It's usually more up to date and more accurate than anything to be found on social media like FB or Twitter, or even MSM for that matter.

I second this, and if someone posts a twitter link it's usually funny as hell. Yesterday we had a twitter link to a video of a man throwing a shopping cart onto a woman. And some culture in a fast food establishment where a very large woman was throwing things at the cashier. Twitter be lit.

Twitter is the only place on earth that you are not only going to get the news, but both sides of it. (Left and Right)

Jesus. Maybe this is what’s wrong with society.

Twitter is just another place where one is guaranteed to only get total nonsense. Get off of shitty social media. You shouldn’t be getting your information from Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc either. Random people saying things is not valuable.

It’s definitely not social media, aka just reading things that random people say on the internet.

I’ve been on Twitter for 15 years. The whole point of it is you can filter information you want to receive. It’s pretty sad you can still find ways to get triggered following people that you willingly choose to

So you have no recommended news sources, you just come in here and shitpost about things you disagree with?

I do. I follow Reuters, AP, and NPR. I find these tend to avoid spin better than others.
