That's bad too. Daily scraping away of your skin is a big negative. A guy's shower should be a little shampoo for the hair and nether regions and then only water. Loofa and soap is no bueno.
shampoo for your nether regions? How hairy are you down there baw

Some of you need to delegate some things to the universe.

I used a washcloth growing up but when I started living on my own and had to do my own laundry I just let the bar of soap do the job, it generally washes a layer off and basically cleans itself.

I’m a daily washcloth kind of guy. Just the way I was raised. That and the fact that my childhood was spend raising hogs, working on a dairy, and generally doing all the messy things that come with farm life. My own two sons have to be threatened to use one. Even though they’re doing a lot of the same work as their old man, they’ll take a 45 minute shower, use every drop of hot water in the tank, and I’ll be next up only to find their washcloth and soap bar both dry. So, yeah, I guess that makes me the minority in my own home.

Well at least now I know who the “whole body deodorant” craze is aimed at.
Nope.

I thought it was quite common knowledge (at least for guys) that scraping away your skin every day was terrible for you and unnecessary.

Why do you think women need to use 50 products to "moisturize" and all that crap? It's because they take steaming hot showers (also not great) while scraping away vital layers of their skin while using 5 different shower products to do so. Then, when they get out, it all has to be replaced artificially with nasty products.

It's a similar impact to your gut microbiome and blasting it with antibiotics and the like. You are destroying the healthy microbiota that inhabit your skin and keep it in good shape for you.

I understand that there are outliers that simply smell terrible if they don't go overboard. But with certainty, the median male DOES NOT need to take long hot showers with soap and scrubbing - and certainly not every day.

A quick lukewarm/cold shower (or even hot, just not too long) with a decent shampoo is plenty enough. You can still run your hands over your body to wash it off, you just don't need soap and scrubbing. And you can follow it with a high quality, non-aluminum-based deodorant, although you might find over time you need way less deodorant than when you are constantly blasting away vital layers of your skin.

And of course I'm not talking about if your went ATVing in the mud for 10 hours and have shite caked in places the sun don't shine. I'm talking about a normal workday.

I’m the only one who uses the bar of soap in my house and I have my own shower. My wife likes that body wash and uses her bathtub. I do use body wash on my face and what’s left of my hair though.

It all comes out in the wash I guess.

In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

I do sometimes, I learned as a kid to lather up both hands and wash, lather and wash, the soap doesn't have to touch the body or use a wash cloth
