I just gave my first child a cell phone. Does anyone on here use a family tracker app? I would like to use one for his safety. Any recommendations?

If they drive, Life360. It’ll show you if they used their phone while driving, trip reports including speed, hard braking, etc

If you want to be able to track your kid's every move, at least be honest with yourself. It's not really "for his safety"

Never did until daughter went to college. Just like to check in every once in a while to make sure she's alive. She shares location with my wife. We do not monitor her every move.

So wait, you didn't install technology capable of tracking your daughter's every move until after she began what is supposed to be the time in her life where she learns independence?

That’s it. You can also setup locations your kid goes to often, like school, home, work, etc and you’ll get an alert when they arrive. I try not to track them constantly so they have some freedom but it’s nice to have if they’re running late or you can’t get them to answer for whatever reason.

True story. For example, my daughter texts all the time. If she doesn't respond we may think, hmmmm, what's going on. So we will check location and see she is in Tigerland. All good. More for our piece of mind not to track.

He's a good kid and I'm not worried about where he is at all times but since he does have a phone now, why wouldn't I put a tracker app on his phone? I would feel pretty shitty if he lost his phone or went missing if I didn't take a few minutes to install a tracker app.
