i travel a good bit but not that much as you detail. every month is different for me.
September, i probably put 2000 miles on my car. But i slept in my own bed every night
July, I bought a new Tempurpedic July 1st. i slept in it 6 nights the month of July and probably 16 nights in July and August combined.
It comes and goes. There are some days where my wife wants to kick my boss' arse and there are some days where she really appreciates the money we get paid with this lifestyle. We decided to homeschool this year and maybe a few more so i'd get to see my kids more. that's been nice. you're not married so it probably won't affect you as much
it does some days. there are days where i just don't want to go anywhere. there are days where i love that i get to go out and see people. i've seen so many awesome things i never would have previously with a desk job. i also built up enough flight and hotel points to take my family on a few hotel nights and flew my wife and i to NYC and Cancun for less than $50 with points. it's a big give and take.

It may be military, but it could also be overseas employment where I believe 330 is the threshold you need to be out of the country to get significant tax advantages.

facetime every day i'm gone.
and i work from home which is great. i have lunch with them everyday i'm home and am there when they wake up and go downstairs to hang out whenever i'm done every day.
a few months back my boss talked to me about getting an office and i said i'd quit on the spot.

I stay on the road about 9 months out of the year. Most trips last between a week and six weeks.
My wife travels too so I don't have to hear her bitching.
I have been doing this for 7 years and it has defiantly gotten old.

Ill be on 2-3 jobs a year and they last 3-4 months a piece depending. Mostly California, Utah, occasionally Brazil, and other countries.

Yeah he works for Rolls Royce on a special team working on ships. He is actually in for a couple of days right now, but he did Australia, Singapore, Belgium, and Turkey on his last trip. Basically anytime a ship needs someone, they call his team.

I've been traveling for 9 years 3-4 weeks a month. It gets old, but the travel rewards are nice. I don't have a wife and kids though, so I'm ok with it.

I used to for about 4 years. Most nights away got up to 190 one year. It wears you down. Looking back, I still enjoyed it, saw many places around the world and wouldn't take it back if I could. Towards the end, it was rough though

With per diem and base salary, i'll be anywhere from 130-160 year one. It pays $40/hr for the first 1500 and increases past that per 500.
