Should we start tipping grocery store employees for putting food on the shelves for us

You don't? I always slip the guy stocking the shelves $20.

I once had got a drink at Sonic and gave the guy $2. Bill was like 1.30 after tax or so.

Asked me if I wanted change back. I was floored.

Why would I tip a worker at a takeout counter?

Many times, the "to go" person has to enter the order, gather the shite and bag it up.
So, like, doing their job?

The person at Subway might take your order, make your sandwich, bag it up, AND work the register.

Holy shite the Subway person deserves way more of a tip than the person at the to-go counter at Applebee’s!

Yes, I always tip $1. It's not much to me, but I remember working restaurants in college, the tips add up and are nice when you are making minimum wage.

Okay, so hear me out.....

If we did a $100 bill and we were to do a 15% tip at the end of the night, that's $15 for an hours worth of service.

If we take that and divide by 60 for the 1 minute of time served, they would get a nice $.25. I'll start giving out a quarter and over tipping because I'm generous and don't usually have a $100 take out order.

Do you tip the worker at the takeout counter?

why yes of course TD says you must tip $20 minimum and if they do anything at all for you then tip no less then $100

tips are not for "doing your job" as most idiots on TD think. according to their standards, you should be tipping at mcdonalds

in the case of a waiter that caters to your needs beyond simply taking your order and bringing your food, then yes tip. if they do nothing but the bare minimum then tip that way, if they do more then that, tip accordingly.

Yes. The amount depends on the amount of the order. But a minimum of $5.

So you tip five bucks when you pick up a ten dollar sandwich?

If there is a tip line on the receipt regardless, you should leave something.

Normally if they have to bag shite up, get condiments and silverware together, and they are friendly I do about 10%.

Was at Jersey Mike's last weekend and the worker said, "ok, the machine is going to ask you a question. Just answer and that's it." the question was whether you wanted to give 10, 15 or 20% tip. WTF. No. You get shamed for not wanting to tip at a damn fast food restaurant. Ridiculous.
