Do you tip the worker at the takeout counter?

If so, how much? It’s something I’ve never been totally sure about, since I am the one going in and picking up the food. I do sometimes, but not as much as a waiter/waitress or someone who brings it out to the car.

I always tip 10% on takeout. I think most don’t but I do.

If it’s takeout from a restaurant where tips are expected then yes other wise no. Except for pizza. Delivery driver gets tip. If I go get it then no tip.

Lord, some of you whine so much about a thread. Just ignore the thing if you aren’t interested in the topic.

I'll tip a $1 or 2. More if it's a hot chick

I always tip if I pick up, sometimes with ca$h money.

Usually around 10%.

I don't feel anyone should be obligated to, but if they provide good service and are friendly, I'll give 10%.

I don't mind helping someone out who's working hard and does their job well.

I give a buck or two. They have to take the order, package it, cash you out etc which detracts from their regular tables so I get it. Been there done that.

Yes. The amount depends on the amount of the order. But a minimum of $5.

Tip a few bucks.

Many times, the "to go" person has to enter the order, gather the shite and bag it up.

You cheap fricks, if you can't afford the tip you cannot afford the meal.

No, and I consider myself a pretty generous tipper.

My wife says I should because they prepare the food and all but I draw the line at this.
