I’ve only used Lyft. I don’t use it a lot, and all my drivers so far have been very nice. I ask them how they like driving and what other jobs they have, etc.
Most seem to be in need of revenue (thus the driving), and they are actually working, so I’ve given them all $5. If I used it more often, I’d have to dial that back.

I’ll tip as long as it’s not Shaniqua in her smoked out Kia Forte with stale fries and bread crumbs everywhere in the back, to go along with no A/C in the middle of June.

I always tip the Uber/Lyft drivers and did so even before you could on the app. The rides are cheap and I generally have a good experience. The ride is still a cheap option even after a tip.

I won't tip unless I have the driver make a special trip or stop at a store to let me quickly pick something up.
If it's just a typical 5 minute ride from one place to another why should I be expected to tip? You did exactly the service you signed up to provide.
The tipping culture in this country has gotten ridiculous.
And yes, I tip wait staff, but wish I didn't have to.

There is no 20% buildup into the fare.
