I’ve probably got close to 40 or 50 shoes and boots so mine last for years. Eventually they wear out and I throw them away. I have one pair of yard shoes but I don’t mow my own grass so they are in pretty good shape.

I keep all of them for yard work and the camp until the soles begin to peel away or I wear a hole in the top.

I think I have about 5 pairs right now.

Don't keep my old ones. I tie the laces together and throw them over the the power lines in front of my friend's houses.

I only wear suits to weddings and funerals. I'm also a heathen. So why would I need more than one pair?

Hell no. As they age, they find new purpose

If they're still in decent condition, I donate them. If not, I throw them away.

An old girlfriend of mine still keeps my old shoes on her doorstep. She says they help keep predators away.

I think 4 is the minimum number. You should at least have 2 pairs of dress shoes. One black and one brown.

I use to be that way with my work boots. A pair would last about nine months before replacing them. At one time I had four pair of worn out ones in the closet. I've weaned myself down to one pair.

Yup. After 20 years, they're out the door! (Unless I really like them a lot)
