You still have to get to Mexico.

Are we assuming I am running from a crime? I have a clean record I can easily go to Mexico. You would have to happy living somewhat isolated and have enough money not to work again to truly disappear.

If you could drop yourself in the perfect location with ample resources, it could be done.

With 2 days to prepare, it’s tough. You have to live off the land and out of sight from aircraft. I guess a cave somewhere could work.

If they tracked down Saddam, halfway across the globe, in a hostile Middle Eastern country amongst his staunchest supporters, all the way to a hole in the ground, then I’ believe if the US government wanted to find you, they would.

People like this a tracked BECAUSE they have a bunch of supporters.

As in there are a bunch of people that know where they are.

Osama had a ton of people in his compound. Only takes one talking.

If you are just flying solo and not running an international terrorist organization with thousands of people its not that easy.

All of those people are still at large TODAY. What are you talking about? The US Marshalls are still actively searching for all of them

Yeah but I imagine it is much harder to find someone using facial recognition when you have no clue how they aged. I doubt facial recognition works on people using a 20 year old photo.

You can go to Serbia and most of the people there can speak English and you can get a decent job if you have any experience in some field. Plus easy access into all of the EU by skipping the border.

No extradition at all and pretty nice.

There are places you can go if you want too. The US Marshals will never find you.

I have a very generic face, so much so that I often get stopped by people asking if I were whoever or if I used to live wherever. With enough time to prepare, sure. Realistically if they can't find you within a 3 month gap they're going to stop actively searching, unless you REALLY fricked up by killing a famous person, or masterminding 9/11.

2 days.. doubtful. Even with a large amount of cash, I would struggle. You’d need to leave the States and that’s not easy with a large amount of cash. Would need the money to be off shore and inaccessible by the Government. I don’t speak any other languages so I’m already at a disadvantage. Best bet would be to somehow change my appearance and melt away in a South American country where you could live on the edge of society for a few years.. only access enough money to get by while working low level jobs but not too small a town/city where you’d be noticed as a lone outsider. The two day head start just makes this extremely difficult for myself..

Watching tv and was wondering, do you think you could truly disappear? CIA and FBI are looking for you because you have information that is matter of national security. The government isn’t sparing any expenses to find you. You have your current financial situation and 2 days preparation. Do you think they would find you?

ETA: You have 2 days to plan. Let’s say after 20 years they give up on the hunting you down. So you have to disappear for 20 years.

Buy a burner with a data plan and a cash funded debit card to use for some purposes. As one can now wear a mask into a convenience store it is a bit easier to hide this purchase. Cash for any transaction that can be tracked by location. Destroy all your personal electronics in a fire.
Monitor the homeless for a day and find one that looks similar to you. Give him a few bucks and chat him up for a name and cursory information. Do a criminal background check for red flags and if there are no outstanding warrants, "replace" him with yourself and leave the area.
The worst part is having ZERO contact with any portion of your old life. Not even visiting websites or following teams you used to follow. That is how they almost always end up catching people.

I could do it, but not under the OPs parameters. I would need more than two days just to get enough cash together. If you can't use cash only, you are screwed. So I don't know how you would rent a car, get on a plane, not sure if you need a credit card for a train ticket. Electronic funds make it very easy to track people these days.

Like I said, I would need more time to drain my accounts assuming I'm allowed to do that before the clock starts on me. Then I'd have to network with some very trusted friends and family to hook me up with a car, places to stay initially, and find a plug to really good fake documents.

Costa Rica has an extradition treaty with the US for non-Costa Rican citizens.
