Do you think that they are really going to start enforcing Real ID at Airports in May?

As I keep traveling, I just wonder how lovely the interactions at TSA are going to be shortly when they tell some of these thoughtful Spirit/Southwest Flyers that they can’t travel because they didn’t pay the $32 vs the $18 (plus bring the necessary paperwork) on their last trip to the DMV.

As a reminder, it was originally supposed to be enforced in 2008.

they sure been saying it for years now, but keeps getting pushed back. I guess eventually they will have to start it for real though

I think the date this go around is actually the federal deadline that was set way back when.

Probably be a real thing this time around.

It irks me they have been letting illegals fly around without ID; I truly hope that was an Internet rumor.

I’ll be compliant. I am just worried about how it is going to jam up the TSA experience for everyone who is not.

The airlines should have to require a passport or real ID for a passenger be validated at the time of purchase. If not, TSA will get clogged with people causing scenes because they can’t get on their Spirit flight.

It's embarrassing we can't just enact a rule and people have to deal with it... been so long, have to go through with it, the poors be damned

Not a rumor. Saw it first hand in El Paso. Group boarded my flight with no photo ID and just printed release papers from Border Patrol. I looked at the TSA guy checking my ID and he just shook his head.

My then wife lost her license on a trip and we didn’t realize it until we were in the TSA line at the airport….turns out a few credit cards with your name on them it just works fine. But we were also on the same itinerary and I had my ID so I don’t know if that helped any.

It is the individual states’ fault if it goes poorly, as they had plenty of advanced notice. They should have converted all our IDs over through the normal course of renewals.

I’ve seen the same thing multiple times in McCallen. After the plane boards, empty seats are filled with illegals with nothing but some papers in their hands.

I just wonder if Trump admin has stopped that Biden practice? Hopefully they have and this insane practice is no more.

Hope so. I'm getting mine Monday. I just don't like taking my passport on the occasional domestic flight.
