Yep, spent 6 years in the Army. Got out and went back home. I live 1 mile from where I grew up, on the same lake.

Yep. And love it here. I'd be incredibly sad to leave it but that'll be a possibility with the SO and his job. Hopefully we can stay reasonably close.

Yes, one of only about 8 or 10 of the hundred or so in my graduating class still living here. A lot of things suck about it, but I have family and business reasons to stay.

Left 11 years ago, will never move back to my hometown or home state for that matter.
Once I relocate my parents and siblings to AZ to start their new life post BR flood....I doubt I will return to even visit my hometown/home state much at all.

Madisonville is the "family hometown." My father moved to Baton Rouge because that is where the work was back then and that is where I was raised. I spent weekends and summers in Madisonville and moved here with my family when I was 25. My father retired last year and moved back to Madisonville. So in a way the answer for me is yes and no.
My grandfather did it in an interesting way. He was born in 1920 the farmhouse his father built in Madisonville. He lived there until he graduated from college in 1942 and went into the Army Air Forces. Went overseas in North Africa and the Middle East. Came him in 1946, got married, travelled all over the country, lived different places, until retiring in 1975. In 1993 the old farmhouse he grew up in came up for sale and he bought it and moved back in. He died in 2001 in the same room he was born in 81 years before. That's a full circle of life!

My daughter and two of my grandkids still live down there, but they're hoping to move here in a couple of years. She can make twice the money here as a dental hygienist as she can there.
Went back for my dads funeral a year ago, but no plans to ever return.

Sorta...grew up in suburb 20 mins away now live in between Ohio States campus and downtown Columbus. Love it where I'm at and would probably not want to move back to the suburbs even though I enjoyed where I grew up.

Yeah the one silver lining with everything that has happened to them....is that my family will be much closer to me now.
I already have one aunt/cousin that moved to AZ near me, now my parents and 2 youngest siblings...and in the next year or so...another aunt of mine is relocating as well to AZ.
