You're like a child who hasn't figured out how to do his chores yet.

That was my initial thought, though I get his sentiment. Some devices, like dishwashers and electric can openers, can be more trouble than they're worth.

I rinse them before, but to be frank, I've never owned a particularly good dishwasher. I might change my habits if I invested in some beast of a machine.

It’s just three of us so it’s just as easy and faster to just wash as we go. Use a dish wash it

You would be surprised to hear how many adults ask "What is wrong with him?" after meeting you.

Did your parents drop you on your head or did you huff glue in school?

How many times do you have to run it to get them clean?

the most useless device ever invented that requires you wash the dishes before you put them in.

women say they "have to have them" because they are just a place to hide the dishes in because they are too lazy to save them.

if you have to "pre-clean" and rinse the dishes before you put them in, then why dont you just spend the extra 3 seconds to use some soap and then you can dry them and save them instead of putting them in an appliance to sit until you waste electricity cleaning already clean dishes

Of course, I'm not a savage. I actually prefer to wash my dishes in the sink by hand

I just wash by hand. Probably haven't used my dishwasher in over a year.

Built a new house 2 years ago. I've never turned on my dishwasher - all the yellow Energy Guide tags and Operating Manuals are still hanging from the top tray. The only reason I have a dishwasher is because it would be difficult to sell the house without it.

yep, lots of people stupidly think it does that but nope

water is no where near hot enough to sanitize anything, you may as well run it under the faucet and call it sanitized because thats all it does.

got news for all you uniformed people out there, the heating element in dishwashers only runs to create heat for drying the water off of dishes and it uses straight hot water out the pipes only for washing dishes, so no germs are dying and nothing is getting "sanitized" in that dishwasher

We don't.

Most of the time everything is nice and clean once it's done.

Peanut butter and some other things you have to rinse but modern dishwashers can handle about 95% of what you throw at them. May give a dish or two a splash if I identify it as being a problem substance.

Copious rinsing is a waste of time. Might as well finish the job yourself if you're doing that much already.

Some people stupidly think all dishwashers are the same. Mine has a sanitize feature.
