Do you rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher?

Yes. If you don’t you’ll end up with little bits of food dried onto your dishes when they come out.

I wash them before putting them in. I look at a dishwasher as a sanitizing device.

I bought an expensive dishwasher so that I wouldn't have to wash my dishes before I put them in the DISHWASHER.

I do but my wife doesn’t. I always have to run stuff through a second time. She thinks those things magically removes peanut butter from our knives. She has no idea I take them out and hand wash them.

I wash dishes by hand brcause I’m a fricking grown man who doesn’t need a machine....
....actually I’m poor and can’t afford a dishwasher right now.

I do not put any dishes in the washer that has crusty or loose food on them. Yes I rinse off the dishes.

We don’t use the dishwasher. Currently building a new house and we aren’t even putting one in it.

We wash them so well before putting them in the dishwasher that I often pull dishes - especially knives and coffee cups - out of there to use.
