Do you really believe there are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on beaches?

The Carl Sagan quote “There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on all the beaches on earth”.
I find that very unlikely, has he ever been to even one beach? Just think about how many grains of sand you can pick up in one hand!
At least one article I found online agrees with me LINK
I’m not an astronomer but I just don’t believe this to be true
ETA: I edited because I’m an idiot an said astrologist instead of astronomer

The vastness of the universe is very difficult for us to truly understand.

Scientists estimate that the Earth contains 7.5 sextillion sand grains. Estimating the exact number of grains of sand on Earth is an exceedingly challenging task due to the vastness and complexity of sand formations.
Astronomers estimate that the universe could contain up to one septillion stars – that's a one followed by 24 zeros. Our Milky Way alone contains more than 100 billion, including our most well-studied star, the Sun.

No - there are more stars in the universe but they aren't all visible from Earth.

If you added all the grains of sand in every desert to the equation, it might be more plausible. Just the Sahara alone…

The Bible says the same thing.

I think it's bullshite too. These astronomers just make shite up.

Why wouldn’t the desert sand be included?

In the observable sky?
No.
In the entire universe?
Without question

He mentioned beaches. A beach and desert are not really the same, no?
Posted on 7/21/24 at 8:33 pm to Tiger1242
Idk, sure seems like there’s a lot of sand in my shorts at the beach.

I believe it. As someone else said, I don't think the human brain can really grasp or understand the vastness of space.
