I play whatever tees play 6500-6800 yards. Most people who play from the tips really don't have the game for it but want to "play the entire course". I'm almost 55 so I play the tees that will challenge me but aren't so long that I have no shot at hitting any greens in regulation.

I play from the seniors with my dad and his buddies... Who are in their 70's. You know, so I don't slow them down.

But he's always been a great athlete and out drives me still by at least 10 yards.

by myself I play the tips (7 handicap), other than that, it just depends on who i'm playing with.

A few years ago, some friends and I played TPC Scottsdale and when we got to 1st tee the marshal tried to place us based on our handicap... we asked if we could play the tips and he said we could as long as we kept up the pace. He then pointed us to the last set of tee markers... i said, no we want to play the pro tees and pointed to the small mound about 50 yards further back. The tees didn't even have markers on them but he said we could play from there if we really wanted to. I was playing around a 5-6 handicap back then & winds were 15-20mph..... actually hit the ball pretty well that day and still shot 91.

I know someone like that.

I've played them a few times. Doesn't matter if you can play bad fast. Just don't hold up the whole course

Yes but only because the blues would have me hitting wedges and sand wedges into the greens. No ego thing. I don't see many playing from the wrong back tees at Santa Maria. If anything they are playing from too short a course.

I'm a single digit handy and it really depends on the course most of the times. Courses like LSU, Beaver, links, The Wing, etc. I'll play the tips all day. But step out on the UClub, I'll be moving up a tee or two depending on who i'm playing with.

Im about a 22 handicap, and i play from the tips at the course i usually play, and at a few of the easier courses i play. However, if its a tougher course, and the guys im playing with dont mind playing from the next tees, ill play those. I wont be in a foursome and be the only one not playing from the tips, though.

Im a rather quick player. my bad scores usually come from terrible putting. So how exactly does my playing from the tips impact your experience on the golf course?

I typically play with golfers who have about an 8-10 handicap, and easily keep up w pace of play.

I usually play the tips, though 7200-7300 is my max. If everyone else in my group is playing up, I'll join them.

Yes. Growing up that's where the junior tournaments would put everyone so I just go used to it.

I usually ignore the tee markers and go to the back of the farthest tee box
