Was at T-Mobile today and a few people came in just to pay their bill.

I’ve seen this at HEB also.

Honest question.

Everything is auto-pay. I never see bills.

No. I’m not poor waiting till the last day to pay, or shutoff day.

Nope. The last time I had to was a few years ago after the gas company was bought out. They screwed up something in my account as they made the switch and it was a huge shitshow. That's the last time I've even been in someplace where I have open accounts other than my bank. Even at the bank I dont pay in person on my home or car loans.

Yes, but I’m a drug dealer who only works with cash and claims 0 on my 1099.

It’s for people who don’t have bank accounts. You know these type of people.

No, but it I remember my grandparents in their golden years planning their weeks around going to pay bills, beauty shop appointments, etc.

My fiancé still writes & mails checks for all of his bills. He doesn’t even have online accounts set up for his mortgage, AT&T account, Entergy, etc. Since he is good with money and super responsible, I view it more as an endearing quirk.

ETA he doesn’t pay shite in person. That is what people who don’t have bank accounts have to do.

That's odd. I haven't written a check for a bill in probably a decade. I wouldn't have a checkbook if I didn't have a kid in school. She's always needs $10 for this or that.

I know, I know. I’ll be able to say husband in a few weeks. That’ll sound less dumb. Or more dumb, based on the board’s view on marriage.

Same. I didn’t order checks for a year, and had no need for them. I feel like he’s ordering checks every 6 months.

Yeah I know a few older men who pay everything by mail and it just seems silly these days. What about the off chance it gets lost or weather damaged and suddenly you’re without power or water because you didn’t know it didn’t arrive? Just recently I think we had to pay a late fee on something.

My dad was worried about his bills last year while on a month long fishcation with me that he was going to leave a few days early.

I'm like, dad....we can take care of this over the phone....

He's worried about people stealing his identity etc.
